Pecan Brown Basmati Rice with Garlic

Secret Ingredient: Tavern on the Green Garlic with Rosemary Oil
You Will Need:
1 cup long-grain brown rice 1-2 tablespoons avern Direct Garlic with Rosemary Oil 1/2 cup Freshly ground chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup pecans, coursely chopped ¼ cup green onion, sliced thin (for garnish, optional) ground pepper to taste salt to taste


Easy Preparation:
  1. Prepare brown rice in medium saucepan, following package instructions.
  2. About 15 minutes before the rice is done, heat 1-2 tbsp of Tavern's Garlic with Rosemary oil in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onion and sauté, stirring frequently, until the onion is softened and begins to yellow, about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and pecans; sauté over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the garlic is tender and pecans are browned slightly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove rice from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Spoon brown rice into a bowl; spoon the onions, garlic and pecans on top and toss lightly to combine. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with some chopped green onion if desired.
