Secret Ingredient: Tavern on the Green Garlic with Rosemary Oil
You Will Need:
1 packageWild Rice, prepared according to package directions2 Tbspchopped shallots1 Tbsp chopped green pepper1 garlic clove, mashed1/4 cupchopped celery1 cupfresh mushrooms, sliced¼ cupTavern on the Green Garlic with Rosemary Oil¼ cup nuts of your choice¼ cupripe olives, sliced
Sauté the shallots, green pepper, garlic, celery and mushrooms in Tavern on the Green Garlic with Rosemary Oil. In a large bowl, add the prepared rice and the remainder of the ingredients and mix well.
Add salt only after tasting to make sure you don't overdo it.
Keep warm and serve with turkey.
Undercook the rice by leaving the center of the rice uncooked.
Baste the cavities of the turkey with Tavern on the Green Garlic with Rosemary Oil and salt and pepper. Stuff the cavities, leaving space for the rice to expand.
Truss the turkey as usual and roast according to your preference.
The rice will finish cooking within the turkey and absorb the flavors of the turkey.
